At SEVEN we understand tackling sustainability can feel like climbing a mountain, and honestly, we can’t solve every global challenge overnight. So, we’ve chosen to focus our energy and passion on what we believe are the cornerstones of a truly sustainable ethos: our People, the Planet, and our vital Partners. These are the foundation on which we’re building achievable goals that are woven into everything we do. By concentrating our efforts here, we aim to make a real and lasting difference, step by step.
Our approach to tackling our goals is firmly rooted in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These universally adopted goals offer a blueprint for achieving a more sustainable future, tackling issues from poverty and inequality to climate change and environmental degradation, ultimately striving for peace and prosperity for both people and the planet. Focusing on three goals these are the commitments we make as a business:
Our chosen United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
SEVEN is proud to be an 85% female-run organisation with strong female leadership. We are proud to be represented in an industry that strives to empower women. We advocate for the female voice to be heard, being members of key organisations such as micebook leaders and shadow panels.
Centering our recruitment strategy around diversity and inclusion, we offer opportunities for training and mentoring to allow employee progression both professionally and personally. We believe that diversity strengthens our creativity, innovation, and ability to deliver exceptional events. By embracing a wide range of perspectives and experiences, we ensure our events resonate with clients and audiences alike.
SEVEN is a member of Isla, an action-driven network committed to creating a sustainable future for events. We actively implement Isla’s best practices to deliver responsible experiences and offer our clients a carbon measurement solution Trace. Allowing us to measure and minimise carbon impacts in real-time. Capitalising on data to empower decision-making, meet targets, and plan for the future.
We understand it all starts with planning and advocate for a “rethink” approach when working through the entire project lifecycle. This begins with design, always considering how to reduce, reuse, and recycle in all elements of projects. We appreciate we have great influence in guiding our clients and empowering positive choices.
While we strive to always reduce emissions where possible and work towards a gradual goal of net-zero, we recognise that there is value in offsetting the carbon we cannot reduce. Here, we partner with Ecologi, a verified organisation that allows us to offer clients varied offsetting solutions, including carbon avoidance, removals, reformation, habitat restoration, and social impact funds. We offer a mix of options that can be aligned with business targets.
SEVEN recognises the importance of working with our partners to achieve our sustainable commitments together. We have an in-depth onboarding process for all suppliers, sharing best practice and requesting a commitment to abide by our policies and to work collaboratively to ensure we deliver sustainable and responsible event experiences.
Our supplier relationships reflect our values and commitment to ethical conduct. We understand the far-reaching implications of procurement decisions for communities, the environment, and the supply chain.
To ensure responsible sourcing, we prioritise local suppliers, supporting community economies and reducing transportation-related carbon emissions. We promote ethical practices, carefully selecting suppliers who align with our values, guaranteeing fair treatment of workers, transparency, and environmentally friendly operations.
Our partnerships are built on trust and mutual respect, with honest and transparent communication ensuring fairness. We will provide sustainability training to all staff and relevant suppliers.
