12 Dec The Brown’s Hotel, Mayfair
This week we got invited to visit the Brown’s Hotel in Mayfair for a show around and of course, a drink or two! Located in the heart of London’s elegant Mayfair, Brown’s Hotel is an iconic luxury hotel where history and 21st-century sophistication come together. The retreat of choice for royalty, presidents and literary greats over the centuries, Brown’s Hotel is an enduringly distinguished destination in London.
Unmistakably British, their inviting rooms and luxurious suites offer exceptional comfort and style, marrying heritage features with contemporary touches. Our warm, personal service will make you feel right at home. Uniquely individual and quintessentially British, Brown’s Hotel’s 33 luxury suites and 82 hotel rooms have been designed by Olga Polizzi to offer unparalleled comfort and style. Inspired by the hotel’s esteemed literary heritage and distinguished former guests, their rooms and suites in central London harmonise stunning period features with contemporary flair. Spacious and inviting, you’ll feel right at home among one-of-a-kind artworks, handcrafted artefacts and wallpapers by English designers.
The hotel has one restaurant, which is honestly titled, The Restaurant at Brown’s, which is a stylish dining destination set in London’s first hotel. The creative menu showcases the finest elements of contemporary British cuisine with a hint of European flavour. From September, Brown’s is delighted to welcome Adam Byatt, chef-owner of Michelin-starred London restaurant Trinity, to the hotel as its new Chef Director of Food & Beverage.
After the show around we ended in the Donovan Bar, which provides an impeccable cocktail menu from the legendary maestro of cocktails, Salvatore Calabrese—who has created a sublime list marrying his personal classics with original concoctions. I tried the ‘Swinging Sixties’, which is a is described as “a drink anointed Queen of the Sixties by dedicated followers of fashion, Mary Quant is best known for creating the daring mini skirt. Just like her style, this pink and sparkling cocktail is a cheeky little number. Hoxton pink gin, Alamea peach brandy liqueur, lemon juice, rosé Champagne and guarana reduction.”
