07 Sep taking your autumn conference virtual
taking your annual autumn conference from in-person to virtual can seem like a scary prospect, but don’t worry – we know it’s possible to make this year’s conference just as motivating, exciting and engaging as last years! here are some of our top tips to help you plan a successful virtual conference:
selecting the right platform
your online platform is just as important as a real-life venue – it’s the first point of contact with your users and a slick easy to use interface will ensure your guests are free to concentrate on what’s really important. have a think about what features are important to you, we’d recommend using a platform which allows live polls, q&a sessions and chat boxes as a minimum.
consider pre-recording
pre-recording part of your virtual meeting in advance can really help to ensure the broadcast is successful. this works particularly well if your speakers are nervous or if you are unsure about the internet connection and ensures all topics and covered correctly.
remember you have objectives to achieve
when it comes to the planning process, our first question will always be “what are you hoping to achieve?”. it is important that you have a clear idea of your objectives and how your audience should think, feel and what they should action as a result of participating.
nominate a virtual host
ensure you have a member of the team available to host the meeting. they should welcome attendees, monitor the chat box and filter any questions through to the speakers. this allows the speakers to concentrate on delivering their presentation confidently!
post-event communication
it’s important to ensure that you share any slides or important details promptly post event, encouraging the conversation to continue once the meeting has finished.
