news of an approved vaccine is giving new hope to the events and hospitality sectors which have been crushed by the 2020 global pandemic. the uk has become the first country in the world to approve use of the pfizer vaccine, with the first batch of 800,000 doses due to arrive within the next few days. this really is music to the ears of event professionals, who are keen for live events to resume.

so, what does this mean for the events sector right now?
for now, the government guidelines still stand and will do for the coming months, but this news gives us longer-term hope for the sector. currently in tier one and two areas, venues are able to operate at a maximum of 50% capacity whilst in tier three areas, events are still not permitted. for more information on this, read our blog: business events to resume
